HAP members are bound by and committed to the common purpose of achieving greater housing affordability in the region. The organization functions primarily through its volunteer Steering Committee, comprised of individuals from key sectors of the housing industry and/or community. The Committee is an alliance: members do not participate as representatives of their own organizations, but are expected to bring the perspective of their sector and their individual skills and experience – ‘hats are left at the door’. Each year, the Committee selects two members to be co-chairs. The Co- Chairs are selected to provide a balance between public and private organizations.
