Housing Affordability Week is a yearly event held in October, hosted by the Housing Affordability Partnership and sponsored by Coast Capital Savings.

Housing Affordability Week spans a week and consists of a multi page insert in the NewGroup paper, articles, public speaking events and other organized events.

The purpose of Housing Affordability Week to to raise awareness of the complex issues associated with housing affordability in the region, to highlight the work being done by community organizations, to stimulate dialogue and to generate solutions.

Each year a theme is identified as the framework for the week and along with community partners, the events and activities are designed.

For Housing Affordability Week 2006, the theme was Collaborations and Solutions. The NewsGroup insert highlighted the collaborations between community partners and the programs addressing the issue of housing affordability in the region.
